Now available on Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Apple Music, and all the other stereotypical streaming services is the 5-track EP ‘AL’. Dedicated to their mascot, groupie, and number one fan AL, The Dead Flowers find themselves. They give their New Brunswick, basement-born fans exactly what they wanted, but stay humble, glorifying their savior instead of themselves.
“It’s not about us man,” said Zach. “The first EP was about us though. That’s why it was called The Dead Flowers EP, but this one is called AL. It’s about AL.”
“Do you wanna hold incense our whole show? Every show?” asked Matt. “Nope. Didn’t think so.”
This EP has meant so much to AL and this post wouldn’t be complete without interviewing him ourselves. We reached out to all the bumblebees(hardcore tdf fans) with questions for AL. These included, but were not limited to:
- How does it feel to be the inspiration behind such a great EP?
- How do I get my name on the next EP?
- After holding incense all the time, do you always smell like incense?
- Does Mike have a gf?
But if we were going to interview the living legend we had to do this right. Video, audio, good lighting, makeup, etc. We called up Dr. Johnny D to arrange our interview and drove the van down to Southern New Jersey to meet the bird. But after all our work, we blew it. We forgot our list of questions. Devastated. We head to the nearest bar to drink our sorrows away with the Doctor. Johnny did his best to cheer us up though. He said, “he’s a plastic bird. He can’t talk. I thought you wanted to interview me you fuckin weirdos.” Yeah Johnny you’re right. We are fuckin weirdos.
